By His Grace

Eek! I am so excited!! I can’t wait to attend the Declare Conference!! The Declare Conference equips women in their calling as digital evangelists and Christian communicators, and this will be my first year to attend! The Declare Conference is held at The Laurel in Grapevine, TX  October 2-4, 2017 where I will gather with many dear friends and make new ones too. Jesus girls are the best!

I’m Attending Declare 2017

In preparation for the conference, we were given these 7 icebreaker questions to answer to get to know each other better. I look forward to reading everyone’s post.

1. When did you feel called to be a digital evangelist, what’s your main medium (podcast / blogging / books / speaking / social media / etc.), and how long have you been doing it?

The Lord began pricking my heart to write, blog and speak a couple of years ago. In 2011 I started speaking for Texas Right to Life after my son Liam was still born due to complications from Trisomy 18. However, I was a homeschooling mom of three boys, life was busy and I was afraid to take the leap of faith. But then in January 2016, I got brave!

I asked my husband what he thought about me going to the She Speaks Conference in Charlotte, NC in July of that year and he immediately responded with a resounding YES! My family rallied around me, and once I signed up for the conference, I began the writing and blogging journey and the rest is history. I started to run the course and never looked back.

My blog is MistyPhillip – By His Grace where I share my heart for the things I love! My tag line is Seek Jesus, Study the Word, & Grow in Grace. Isn’t that really what life is all about?

At By His Grace, I blog about pretty much whatever strikes my fancy. However, most of what I write is about my life with the Lord and all he is teaching me through the seasons of life in hopes that it will encourage other women to love Jesus and love their families more each day. My first line of ministry is to my husband and family, and everything flows outward from there. I believe a woman’s highest calling is to love God and make him known, by loving and serving her family and others with her gifts and talents. Our homes should be an extension of that ministry and should be a beautiful and inviting space that is a comfortable place to learn and live and grow and extend hospitality and grace to others. I enjoy speaking and teaching women and accept the opportunity as often as my schedule allows.

You can find me on most social platforms, FacebookInstagramTwitterPinterest and LinkedIn. As a member of the Blog About Network, I love supporting other authors and sharing their books with my tribe. I am a contributor to the

As a member of the Blog About Network, I love supporting other authors and sharing their books with my tribe. I am a contributor to the Philanthropy Fashion Blog, an amazing clothing store with a heart for the Jesus, and His people. I love my church and my life group and am honored to serve the Biblical-Literacy  class, by writing prayer point devotions.

Podcasting someday is on my to do list. I have everything I need to begin podcasting but haven’t taken that leap of faith yet…

2. What is your life scripture?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

3. What are your passions?

Bible Study!! I love God’s word, and I geek out on biblical studies. I love my family and enjoy spending time with them. At home I love to cook, the kitchen is my happy place. I love to create, and the holidays are just the excuse I need to freshen up my home and invite people over. I love hospitality and entertaining because life is better when we share it with friends.

4. What is your favorite candy and/or food?

Berries of all kinds, avocados, and chocolate!

5. Where is your happy place and what’s it like?

If I am not in my kitchen, my happy place is in the mountains or on a trail in the woods! We love to hike, especially in the mountains! Our favorite places to go are GTNP in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, or Vail, Colorado. I love the smell of sage brush, the beauty of the aspen tree, the crystal clear reflection of the mountains off of a lake, the roaring rush of waterfalls, the beauty of freshly fallen snow and the rugged terrain of a mountain side teaming with wildflowers and wild life.

6. Are you working on any exciting projects that you can share about? If so, please share!

I am currently writing a Bible Study and can’t wait to see what the Lord does with it!!

7. How can we pray for you as you prepare for this year’s conference?

I desire to please the Lord in whatever I do. My heart is to encourage women and share his great love with them. Please agree with me in prayer that the Lord would make the path ahead of me clear and that he would open only the doors he would like me to enter and close all of the other doors in his perfect timing.

I look forward to learning, growing, and collaborating with everyone. If you are attending the Declare please leave me a comment so that we can connect and meet up at the conference!
